Private Cloud VS Public Cloud
In this article I’m going to talk about the difference between Private and public Cloud.
First : Private Cloud Computing
1.Private cloud functions are independently for the organization itself and that mean it is not accessible from anywhere like public cloud.
2. It’s completely managed by the users in the organization, that’s mean there are no third party who build and manage the infrastructure and functions.
2. Data security risks is less in Private Cloud.
3. Scalability, since it’s enable the organizations to scale up and scale down depend on their needs.
4.Single Client (The Organization)
Second : Public Cloud Computing
1. Initial costs is not big like the private cloud.
2. Accessible ; You can access it from anywhere.
3. Available and Reliable.
4. Maintenance and Management are the provider responsibility .
5.Multiple Clients.

What is Windows Azure?
Windows Azure is Microsoft’s application platform for the public cloud. You can use this platform in many different ways.
How we can use Windows Azure?
- Build a web application that runs and stores its data in Microsoft data centers.
- Just to store data, with the applications that use this data running on-premises (that is, outside the public cloud)
- Create virtual machines for development and test or to run SharePoint and other applications
- Build massively scalable applications with lots and lots of users

Startup Weekend Gaza 2012
Startup Gaza 2012 was a Special experience .. Hard Journey .. and Successful end for new Start and New Dream .
The Story Started with five young Palestinian ; who believe in their Dreams , Ideas and aspire to Success . Every One have a different feeling and different experience that I will tell you it thorugh this article.
First let me present to you the winner team in Startup Weakend Gaza 2012 :
Wasim Al -Atrash , Maha Al-Shaqra , Ashraf Al-Saqa ,Moahmed and Me ; Reema AbuShaheen.
What is our Idea about ?
Simply Extension that add a translation to the video on YouTube which connect with web system too.
What we are trying to solve ?
- Reduce the percentage of the Replications for the same video .
-Save the Copyrights
How Our Journey Started?
Let’s start with the Idea Owner : “ Wasim”
“The Journey started when I was in HTML5 boot camp , and the trainer”Mohamed Sharrab” asked us to think about Ideas to participate in StartUp Gaza , At that time I don’t think a lot since there is a long time to the event Start date.
Every Body in the boot camp had prepared his/her idea and under pressure I decide to participate in “ Pomodoro technique” idea and I register in the StartUp weekend with it.
Time had been passed and through those days my confidence in the idea become less than the day before.
and one of the days while I’m watching YouTube Videos I started thinking about the “YouTube Translator!
In the last day in the HTML5 training when the Trainer “Ala’Hamouda” present to us a session about Google Chrome extension ; Even I don’t know how , where to start . So I decide to register again in the startup weekend with the new Idea .
Ashraf :
“I think the Fate had control and play with some actions; because at the same date that Startup will be held ; I had to travel to Egypt ; but for unexpected reasons I didn’t travel
I registered in the ”
Maha :
“ Nothing Beautiful than when you talk about your experience especially if the end was the Success . The journey start with SMS that tell me that my idea had been accepted in the StartUp weekend , at that time I was Hesitant about participating ; but I decide to enter the competition ; I will not lose anything but I will get new experience”
Mohamed :
“ As the others I registered with my idea ; and I worked on my idea and prepared it for the competition , Many feelings at the same time ; No words can describe it!
All What I remember that I wanna to win and get new experience in my life “
So It’s my time to tell you how I participate in StartupWeekend Gaza 2012 even I live in WestBank :
My relations and connections with people in Gaza Started in 2011 , Since I become the Microsoft Student Partner @ My University “Arab American University”
The Journey with Wasim Started since 8 months and exactly When Microsoft made Tech-days events in Gaza ..Since wasim is a Microsoft Geek man.
We had many ideas to worked on it ; but at that time most of them failed due to uncontrolled reasons.
But we had one dream and one vision that we will achieve it in the future even all the challenges , and StartUp Gaza was one of those Goals.
How the team Formed and grow since all of the members Participate with their own ideas?
One of the rules in StartUp weekend Competition ; that all the people who registered with their ideas have to present it in 60 second . after that there will be voting on the ideas.
Our Idea had at first approximately 13 voices and that’s not enough !! we will lose !
So Wasim have to move quickly to increase the number of the voices on our idea to make it alive and win @ the first stage.
He met Maha, Mohamed and Ashraf and he spent a big effort to convinced them to leave their ideas and Go with him and be Part of “ YouTube Translator” Team 
How we spent the 54 Hours ?
Those Days hold a lot of feeling ..
Believing in the Idea .. Believe that we can win and we can do it even all the challenges.
To Feel that you belong to a team that you never met with them before was one of the Greatest feeling in the world and it was one of the keys to success !
We divide the work ; EveryOne work on part that he/she can add a real value and make the work more effective and efficiency.
We THINK .. WRITE .. SEARCH .. DISCUSS .. DEVELOP … even all the PRESSURE , FATIGUE.. and the Few hours of sleeping .. We did it and the presentation time had came.
A moment of wining !
It’s the moment where you feel that you don’t feel anything !
The announcement of the winners STARTED …Number 3 …… Number 2 ……..
The hearts beat quickly .. Moment of silents .. moment of internal fear .. moments of faith and hope …
The winner IS .. YOUTUBE TRANSLATOR !!
Those silents moments become CRAZY MOMENTS !!
I will leave you with the the video that will illustrate those Great Moments ..
Ok .. Wait !! I wasn’t with them at that moments! and I didn’t know the results !
The technology Swear that it would punish me : “It’s Enough Reema what u had for 54 Hours!!“
At those moments : Wasim’s mobile charge was empty ! His laptop Battery was empty too !
My Laptop Died ! The Operating System Disappear too !
and Even the Internet setting on my mobile wasn’t work !
All the people knew the results expect me ! after one hour or more .. I received SMS from Wasim : ” Reeemaaa we wiiiiiiin the Fiiiiirst Place!! “
Reema : ” No .. You are joking with me ! SWEAR ! !! “
At those moments I saw the results on Facebook :
I don’t wanna to tell you about my re-action .. just imagine it 
The reaction for My family .. You win! what ? Where ? How ?
Since I would like to make a lot of happy surprises to my Mum and Dad
A message from the team :
- No Matter how old are you or the level in your study. You can do Great things if you think in right way.
- Team Work is one of the keys success in any project.
-Manage yourself ,and work with the part of the project you feel you can add value through it.
and Finally : It’s not matter how far we are ; I live in WestBank and the team live in Gaza but even that we worked hard and we challenge all the challenges itself.
And My Message to the world :
Stop Dividing us to into two countries , we are all Palestinians and live in PALESTINE nothing else..
No Matter what the stupid politics do .. we will break all the challenges and the barriers and we will Do Great things and raise up PALESTINE name .

ستارت اب وييك اند غزة Startup Weekend Gaza 2012 … التجربة الرائعة والصعبة والمليئة بالتحديات والأمل … نهاية ناجحة لبداية وحلم جديد …
بدأت الرحلة بخمس شباب وشابات من فلسطين …ما كان يميزهم ويجمعهم هو إيمانهم بأفكارهم وطموحهم المستمر الى النجاح وإحداث الفرق …
في البداية دعوني أعرفكم بالفريق الفائز في المرتبة الاولى في مسابقة Startup Weekend Gaza 2012

ما هي فكرتنا ؟
الفكرة ببساطة هي : إضافة للمتصفح (إكستنشن ) وظيفتها أن تضيف ترجمة للفيديو
الهدف من الفكرة : هو تقليل عدد الفيديوهات المنتشرة بنفس المحتوى ولاكن بترجمات مختلفة، وكذلك حفظ حقوق الملكية لهذه المصادر
كيف بدأت رحلتنا ؟
لكل منا قصته ورحلته الخاصة التي بدأ منها حتى اجتمع الفريق
أبدأ أولاً بصاحب الفكرة :”وسيم الاطرش”
“بدأت فكرتي عندما كنت أتلقى تدريب لل HTML5 .. عندما قام المدرب “محمد شراب” بتحفيزنا على المشاركة في هذا الحدث والبدأ بالبحث عن فكرة للمشاركة بها .. في البداية لم اعطي أهمية للأمر نظرا لوجود وقت طويل يفصل ما بيننا وبين بدء المسابقة و ضيق الوقت لإستلامي لعمل جديد في إحدى الشركات الخاصة.. وتحت الضغط قررت أن أشارك بفكرة تتعلق بإدارة الشركات من خلال Pomodoro Technique وقمت بالتسجيل في المسابقة بهذه الفكرة.
مضت وتوالت الايام وكل يوم كنت أدرك أكثر فأكثر أنها ليست فكرة مجدية… وبعدها خطرت في بالي فكرتنا الحالية أثناء مشاهدتي للفيديوهات على اليوتيوب، ولحسن حظي في أخر يوم من الدورة التدربية قامت المدربة “الاء حمودة” بالشرح عن الكروم اكستنش ..ومن هنا بدا شغفي بهذا النوع من التطبيقات…
في البداية لم يكن لدي اي خبرة أو معرفة عن كيفية عمل اكستنشن.. لاكن الجرعة التي أخذتها خلال التدريب عن الاكتنشن سهلت علي القراءة والبحث لاحقا وهذا ما فعلته ونجحت في تجاوز هذه المرحلة وقررت التسجيل مرة اخرى ب ستارت اب وييكاند بفكرتي الجديدة “
اشرف السقا :
“على ما يبدو أن القدر قد تدخل ..لانه في الفترة التي كان سيعقد فيها الحدث . كنت ساكون متواجدا في دولة مصر..ولكن لاسباب مفاجئة وغير متوقعة الغيت السفر الى مصر قبل ايام قليلة من الحدث ..ولذلك كان علي التسجيل والمشاركة في ستارت اب ..وبدات العمل على تطوير فكرتي لكي اكون مستعدا للمنافسة والفوز”
مها الشقرة :
“من اجمل الاشياء ان تعبر عن تجربة بتفاصيلها وخصوصا عندما تتكلل هذه التجربة بالفوز …تلقيت رسالة على جوالي تعلمني انه تم قبولي في المسابقة في ذلك الوقت فرحت ولكن ايضا ترددت بالمشاركة بالحدث لأنه الوقت المتبقي على بدء المنافسة قليل و لكني تشجعت لخوض التجربة لأنه اتجربة جديدة ولن اخسر شي ..بالعكس ساتفيد من هذه التجربة كثيرا”
محمد شعث :
” كباقي أعضاء الفريق قمت بالتسجيل في المسابقة لاني املك الكثير من الاحلام التي ارغب بتحقيقها..شعور مزدوج ما بين الرغبة في المشاركة والتردد ولكن كل ما اتذكره هو رغبتي في تحقيق الهدف والفوز وخوض تجربة جديدة في حياتي بغض النظر عن النتائج “
اما الان فهو دوري .. العديد من التساؤولات التي وجهت الي : كيف شاركت ب ستارت اب غزة وانا من سكان الضفة الغربية ؟
بدأت التواصل مع الاشخاص في غزة في شهر 10 سنة 2011 .. عندما أخترت كممثلة/شريكة ميكروسوفت في جامعتي “الجامعة العربية الامريكية “
اما كيف تعرفت على وسيم فقد بدأت الأمر قبل 8 أشهر وبالتحديد في الحدث التعليمي الذي أقامته ميكروسوفت في غزة لمدة يومين… شاركنا بالعديد من الأنشطة والافكار .. ولكن لم نحرز أي هدف نظرا لأسباب خارجة عن إرادتنا ..لكن مع مرور الأيام ..بقي لدينا عدة اهداف نرغب بتحقيقها على الرغم من كل التحديات والعوائق وهذا الحدث هو واحد من تلك الاهداف ..
كيف تشكل فريقنا ؟ مع العلم أن باقي الاعضاء في الفريق كانو مسجلين بافكارهم الخاصة ؟
واحدة من إحدى القواعد في مسابقة الستارت اب هو أن كل مشارك يقوم بعرض فكرته في 60 ثانية .. ويتم بعدها التصويت على الأفكار من قبل المتواجدين في الحدث …بدأ التصويت على الافكار .. وفي البداية حصلنا على 10 أصوات.. ما فاجأنا هو أن التصويت يتم بناء على المعارف أكثر من كونه على الافكار ..لذلك كان على وسيم التحرك بسرعة وإلا سنخسر !
إلتقى ب محمد و أشرف( اللذان مرو بنفس الوضع) .. ومها .. وبعد عناء طويل اقنعهم بل الانضمام الى فريقنا وفعلا قاموا بل الانضمام وارتفع عدد الاصوات على فكرتنا وتأهلنا الى المرحلة الثانية.
كيف أمضينا ال 54 ساعة الخاصة بالحدث ؟
هذه الساعات تحمل في طياتها العديد من المشاعر والأحداث..مشاعر ممزوجة بالرغبة في الفوز … الايمان بقدراتنا…
ولكن حقا من اجمل واعظم المشاعر هو شعورنا بالانتماء للفريق و اننا عملنا ك فريق متكامل يجمعنا هدف واحد وحلم واحد على الرغم..من اننا لا نعرف بعضنا الاخر الا من خلال هذه المسابقة
قمنا بتقسيم العمل الى مهام وكل شخص فينا يتولى مهمة بحيث يكون لديه القدرة على الابداع وانجاز العمل على اكمل صورة
عملنا كثيرا ..تحت الضغط… وفي ظل انقطاع الانترنت المستمر الذي اثر بشكل كبير على مهامنا جميعا .. عملنا حتى ساعات الصباح لليوم التالي فلم نحظى الا بساعات قليلة من النوم..
لحظات النجاح
في هذه اللحظات بالذات تشعر بأنك لا تشعر بشي…بدء العد التنازلي وبدؤوا باعلان النتيجة : الفائز بالمرتبة الثالثة ….
المرتبة الثانية ….
تملكنا جميعا شعور بالخوف الداخلي ..ولحظات من الصمت ..الا ان سرعان ما تحولت هذه اللحظات الصامتة الى لحظات جنونية لن تمسح من ذاكرتنا عندما اعلنوا ان مشروعنا حصل على المرتبة الاولى
اترككم مع الفيديو الذاي يوضح ويصور تلك اللحظات
لكن مهلا ! انا اسرد الحكاية بكل تفاصيلها ولكن للاسف لم اكن متواجدة معهم.. في تلك اللحظات اصرت “جميع وسائل التكنولوجيا “على معاقبتي :
ففي تلك اللحظات الهاتف المحمول الخاص بوسيم قد افرغ تمام من الطاقة وكذلك الامر بالنسبة ل جهازه المحمول “اللابتوب”
بعد ساعة او اكثر .. قام وسيم بارسال رسالة الى هاتفي المحمول كالتلي:
“ريماااا .. فزنا بالمركز الاوووووول “
لحظات من الصدمة وعدم التصديق!
“ وسييييم .. بتمزح ؟!!! احلف “
وفي تلك الاثناء رايت النتائج تظهر على الفيس بوك ! لا اريد ان اذكر لكم كيف كانت ردة فعلي .. اترك لكم ان تتخيلو ذلك
الا انني عندما اخبرت عائلتي بهذه النتيجة : كانت علامات الاستفهام وعلامات التعجب واضحة على وجوههم ..لانهم لم يكونوا يعلموا بمشاركتي في هذه المسابقة … “المفاجات السارة من اهم القواعد في حياتي “
ما نريد ايصاله لكم من خلال تجربتنا هو :
لا يهم عمرك او في اي مرحلة تعليمية انت .. فيمكنك فعل اشياء عظيمة وكثيرة اذا فكرت بطريقة صحيحة وقمت بتطوير نفسك بشكل مستمر
-من اهم اسس ومفاتيح النجاح هو الفريق وروح التعاون وتفضيل مصلحة الفريق على المصالح الشخصية
واخيرا المسافات ليست بالامر الهام .. فقد استطعت العمل مع فريق لم اتقابل معهم شخصيا .. وقمنا بتخطي جميع التحديات التي واجهتنا .. فقط ثق بقدرتك على تحقيق هدفك وحلمك وتوكل على الله
وأما الرسالة التي اود ايصالها للعالم :
كفاكم تقسيما للشعب الفلسطيني .. ومعاملتنا على اننا دولتين منفصلتين ..كلنا نعيش في حدود وطن واحد وهو فلسطين.. ولا يهمنا كم من عائق سيوضع امامنا ..
هذه هي قصة نجاحنا و كيفية حصولنا على المركز الاول في مستابقة ستارات اب ؟ هل ما زلتم تؤمنون ان هناك عوائق لتحقيق الحلم ؟
